As the home editor on BI’s Reviews team, I’ve spent years covering Black Friday furniture deals. I love staying on top of the best places to buy furniture online, and this week, I’ve combed through the sales to find the best deals and seasonal offers. If there’s a furniture sale worth knowing about, you’ll find it here, including those from retailers that seldom offer discounts.

Some of the standout Black Friday Furniture sales and deals include a rare 25% off sitewide discount at Benchmade Modern, where you can design furniture with custom dimensions for tricky spaces (read about our experience designing a chair in our Benchmade Modern review); 40% off everything at Lovesac, which I’ve never seen before; up to 35% off sitewide at Interior Define, a reliable favorite for custom living room furniture; up to 75% off at Ballard Designs, who offers some of the best upholstery options; and up to 40% off at Burrow, with an emphasis on modular and apartment-friendly options.

There are thousands of deals to furnish your entire home affordably. Pro tip: Keep an eye out for Wayfair Verified badges, which mean a piece has been vetted in-house for quality and value. Additionally, sign up for Wayfair emails to take an extra 10% off your purchase.

Article Black Friday sale

Article only offers sales a handful of times throughout the year. Its 40% off Black Friday sale features its highest price cuts of the year on over 600 products, including popular furniture, decor, and outdoor items. We recently reviewed Article’s Riley sofa bed — it was not only extremely comfortable, but we also appreciated the pet-friendly fabric and ease of delivery, including in-home setup.

West Elm Black Friday Sale

West Elm is offering up to 70% off with a variety of promotions, including up to 70% off clearance, up to 60% off bedding, and up to 50% off furniture and lighting. Select items are also an extra 20% off. Clearance products are typically those that will be discontinued, but you can also find some gems on a limited-time sale. A sofa is easily one of the biggest purchases you can make for your home. We recently reviewed the Interior Define Sloan Sofa, which perfectly melds comfort with timeless style. If you’re looking for more value-oriented pieces, Ashley has the five-piece Calmoro dining set on sale for $599. If you work from home and need to deck out a home office, now is a great time to upgrade. Branch, another brand we’ve tested and highly recommend for office furniture, is offering up to 20% off its bestselling desks. Flexispot, maker of our favorite budget and heavy-duty desks, is offering up to 80% off. For office chairs, we’re eyeing Design Within Reach, which includes 25% off everything plus an extra 5% off Herman Miller, making it a great time to save on the iconic Aeron chair. Black Friday rug deals

An area rug is a must for a cozy underfoot experience. Ruggable is our go-to brand for washable rugs, having created an entirely new category of rug and spawning several copycats. You can save up to 40% at Ruggable, including the new washable all-in-one design with an integrated pad. For bespoke and vintage rugs, Revival is a great source, with savings of up to 30% off. Is Black Friday a good time to buy furniture?

Absolutely. Black Friday is a great time to buy new furniture; some may even say it’s the best time of the year. Many retailers offer all-time low prices on sofas, bed frames, and dining tables. We’ve seen savings up to 80% off. Other shopping holidays, like Labor Day and Memorial Day, can also have good deals, but they are often not as substantial as Black Friday.

How soon can I have my furniture delivered?

This depends on where you order from and the type of furniture you are purchasing. Custom and made-to-order pieces can take a few months to ship, while pieces from mass-market stores may arrive in just a few days. Pay attention to expected delivery timelines, which are often posted on each individual product page. If you’re in a hurry to receive furniture, some brands also offer ready-to-ship sections to expedite delivery.

Are there any sales that are better than last year’s Black Friday deals?

I track furniture sales throughout the year, and while many retailers are quite predictable with their sales and markdowns, I’ve noticed a few that have really increased the savings this year.

Most notably, Lovesac is offering 40% off sitewide, which extends to its new Snugg sofa collection. This unique sofa includes built-in storage in the frame. This sale beats last year, which offered 30% off Sactionals and Stealthtech. Interior Define also increased its savings from last year’s 25% to up to 30% off sitewide. It’s a discount based on spend, where orders over $3,000 are 30% off, and anything under that threshold is 25% off. Rove Concepts members also get a boost from last year with 35% off prices and 20% back in vouchers. The annual $200 membership very quickly pays for itself when you start to compare their “regular” pricing.
