You deserve a mini fan this Prime Day.

It’s summer in the city. For sweaty New Yorkers like me, that means one thing: it’s officially mini fan season.

I can’t stand being sweaty, and summer presents far too many opportunities for that than I care for. A few years ago, I bought myself a rechargeable handheld mini fan that folds into a desktop fan, and it has drastically improved the way I feel about leaving the house in the summer. I love this little fan from Jisulife — it’s worth every penny of the $20 sticker price, but for Prime Day it’s on sale for as low as $13, and it’s my responsibility to highly recommend you buy it.

You’ll find the lowest discount on the pink version, but all the other colorways are on sale, too. I promise you’ll thank me for this, but in case you need more convincing, read on for what I love about this fan. For more of the day’s best deals, check out our Amazon Prime Day hub.

I take it everywhere. This fan comes with me every time I leave the house in the summer and especially on trips. You can catch me fanning myself on the subway platform, at the park, at the beach, while sitting outside at a restaurant, and pretty much any other place that isn’t air-conditioned to a crisp 60 degrees. I travel with it too, because I can’t trust that every hotel or Airbnb I stay at will be as frosty as I prefer. At night, I stand it up on my bedside table by folding back the handle so I have cool air blowing right on my face all night.

This mini fan helps me hate summer a little bit less.

Everyone asks me about it, and it’s so great for kids. Even my husband — an avowed mini fan hater — has conceded that it’s pretty nifty, and once even said he wanted one (though he will deny this). I recently hosted my cousins and their three little girls in NYC during 100+ degree days, and the kids were always fighting over control of the fan. It saved us from a few (literal) meltdowns with cranky kids walking in the heat. The fan blades are thin plastic and stop spinning when touched, so there’s no worry about hurting little fingers.

I love that it folds up. I’ve looked at other mini fans, but I don’t love the bulk of the classic cage fan — and don’t even get me started on those wearable neck fans. Plus, I have so much crap in my bag that exposed fan blades are bound to get tangled in my headphones or keychain. The Jisulife fan stores compactly when not in use, and I never have to worry about it accidentally turning on in my bag.

You can also use it as a desk fan. The handle folds back so that the fan can sit flat on a surface and provide you with blissfully cool air. I’ve used it at work, and I always take it with me when I travel to use as a bedside fan in a pinch. That way, I never have to worry about whether the sleeping accommodations will be as frosty as I prefer.

It doubles as a flashlight and a phone charger. I’d be content if it only functioned as a fan, but it’s pretty great that I can also use it as a portable battery in a pinch. I have yet to find a use for the flashlight feature, though.

I’ve purchased this fan three times now. Not because it’s broken or anything, but rather because I’ve left it in numerous destinations over the years. Still, I think it says something that I’ve always come back to the same fan when it’s time to rebuy.
